Upbeat indie meets dirty pop from the north of England

Marsicans are an emerging indie band from Leeds, England whose harmony-laden, hard-edged sound is fast-gaining notoriety alongside their reputation for exciting live shows. Hot off the heels of January shows in the Netherlands and France and a UK tour supporting Minnesota's Hippo Campus, Marsicans play a 9-date headline tour in February and March to promote their upcoming single Friends, the first of a string of releases on LAB Records planned for 2017.

All long-time friends from school and the Leeds music scene, Marsicans' current line-up started sampling old synths, distorting guitars and writing songs together in 2014. From an early incarnation of raw 18 year-olds opening for an up-and-coming Catfish & The Bottlemen at a small venue in Wakefield, the band has come a long way. In the last 12 months Marsicans have played sold-out shows in Leeds, London, Manchester, Sheffield and Lincoln plus European dates and a Glastonbury performance which was showcased on the BBC's Best of Sunday highlights. Tracks from the band's recent Absence EP grabbed airplay on BBC Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X, 3FM (Netherlands), BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, were featured on Spotify New Music Friday, Hot New Bands and Indie List playlists and received a sackful of positive coverage from the blogosphere.

James Newbigging - lead vocals and guitar
Oliver Jameson - guitar and vocals
Rob Brander - bass, keyboards and lead vocals
