Rob Deering performs stand-up comedy with music, using a guitar, a loop pedal and his voice to create impressive rock and pop soundscapes – and do jokes, of course.

Along with being one of the most in-demand headliners on the UK circuit, he’s toured nationally and performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe many times since starting out in comedy in the year 2000. His late-night, live-music comedy pop quiz Beat This is a festival institution, on London’s South Bank, at Wales’ Green Man and many more besides Edinburgh.

Impressionist, comedian, voice over artist, writer and actor. 'Brilliant' - David Walliams and 'The New Wave of Comedy' - Michael McIntyre. Cal Halbert has performed from local comedy clubs to the London Palladium, Britain's Got Talent to Good Morning Britain and voiced for YouTube to the BBC. 

 

Well known as an Impressionist, Halbert is one half of 'The Mimic Men'. The UK's only impressionist double act! Performing on Britain's Got Talent in 2016 and gaining four yeses accompanied by a standing ovation by the judges, audience and Ant and Dec.

Alongside playing at biggers clubs such as Glee Club, in 2015, toured with Luisa Omielan and worked for independent promoters such as  Monkey Business, Funhouse, Hilarity bites, Hilarious, Crack, Can, Bent Double (Brighton Komedia) and Laughing Horse.

I have been plugging away at this comedy stuff for a couple of years now...and it seems to be going pretty well.

Within that short time I have won 'English Comedian Of The Year', came 2nd in the BBC New Comedy Award, nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Awards and have been lucky enough to travel all over the world telling jokes.

It might sound like bragging, but there is not really another way of telling people how things are going.

Christian’s comic songs, improvisations, sharp wit and youthful energy have delighted audiences wherever he performs. He was recently interviewed for the British Comedy Awards Magazine, and will be appearing in Edinburgh in 2006, performing in the ever-popular ‘AAA’ at the Pleasance Courtyard.

After working at The Hyena Comedy Café as a sound man for six months, he finally got on stage. He moved to Manchester within 12 months he went from barman at the Frog & Bucket, to booking agent, to hosting the new act night and finally compering the weekends. In June 2004 he turned professional. At that year’s Edinburgh festival he performed as part of the Big Value Comedy Show, returning in 2005 as part of a double header with Josie Long.
